Fit-out Below : Companionway : Boat Flag : Electrics
Here you can see the bulkheads and bunk areas forward and a shot looking aft to the wooden mock-up during the early design process.
October 2003 to April 2004: The fitting-out below was well under way. The following pictures show the work in progress with some interior bunk details, bulkheads being fitted, and detail on the heads compartment looking forward and galley looking aft:

August 2003: The companionway can be seen fitted in place after the first sea trial in the first two pictures. A revised companionway seen in the following pictures was subsequently designed and fitted later.

Mike Halse researched a traditional design for a pennant for the Happy Return. Jean Harris of Mousehole, sister to the late Lawrie Waters kindly loaned the flag from "Inter Nos" a motor pilchard driver built after the turn of the century and owned by the Sleeman family in Mousehole.
You can see our flag being initially assembled by one of our members, Eunice, and made alongside the loan flag.
These flags were flown by luggers at special occasions such as harbour sports and family weddings. They are big, so you certainly won't miss the one on Happy Return when it's flying!

Work now was well under way with the electrics in place.
