Hull Restoration (2000 to 2003)
The photographs show the initial floating state, then craned out and in place prior to restoration work with the discovery of the condition of the timbers after removal of the deck. The state of the prop & rudder, engine bay, stanchions and deck beams, top frames, futtocks and floors can be seen.

Arriving and in the harbour at Penzance on May 4th 1998.
  
   
   
   

Wheelhouse removed when still afloat in Penzance harbour alongside the Albert pier and in the wet dock.
   
   

Lift out alongside the Albert pier prior to restoration at Crowlas.
   
   
   

At Crowlas in November 2000 ready for complete restoration and state of the timbers below decks after stripping out.
   
   
   
  

Removal of old timbers and inspection for stripping out and replacement of any rotten frames which themselves consisted of five bolted pieces - floor, futtocks and top timbers or second futtocks.

July 2002: Completed replacement oak frames and larch planks, covering boards of iroko, fish hatch and scottle coamings and deck beams.
   
   
   
   

The engine bearers and prop shaft are in place. Work has started on the oak stanchions, the rudder and transom and painting is underway.
   
August 2002: Engine installed, stanchions almost completed on the port side and white primer being painted to inside of hull. The rudder has been hung and is also now ready for painting.
   
September to October 2002: Tiller made and all stanchions and rails completed.
   
November 2002: Caulking completed on the port side, bulwarks in place on the starboard side, lead casting for ballast nearly completed, engine controls being overhauled.
  

December 2002: Caulking completed, bulwarks in place, aluminium paint applied, fish hatch completed, deck planks sawn and undersides painted ready for laying when wet weather improves. Douglas Fir was used for the deck.
   
   
   

January - February 2003: Hull painted, deck almost completed, detail features, sealing the deck, legs finished and painted
   
   
   
Ready for transportation and the re-launch prior to the continuation of the restoration in Penzance wet dock.
