Some
important involvements and events since
restoration
The
Trafalgar
Celebrations
The
Happy Return took part in the Penzance Trafalgar
Celebrations on Saturday 22nd October 2005 during a sea
re-enactment in Mounts Bay.
She relayed the first news of the
Battle of Trafalgar and Nelson's death from HMS Pickle (played
by SV Ruth) making her first landfall in
October 1805.

Folkestone
Voyage July 2005
It
is appropriate that we included a voyage to Folkestone by
the Happy Return during this first full season of our sailing
programme as it
is just 100 years since the Happy Return made it's first voyage
from Porthleven at Kitto's Yard, where she was built, to the new
owners in Folkestone.
We
took
part in SAILATHON
2005 during this voyage

The

guest exhibit from the 6th - 12th
August in the 2004 Sailing Regatta Week and
is now a regular exhibit during the summer
months

The
Happy Return runs a programme of community projects
The
Happy Return is continuing to fulfil her commitment to
the local community and to realize some of the ambitions
and
objectives of the Association.
In 2004 the Happy Return was
asked to take part in the Falmouth
Marine School Traditional Boatbuilding Course for the first
time and has now become part of the syllabus. Here are some
shots taken aboard.
The
Association assists in the LEAP
Leisure Week project (Leisure Education and Awareness
Program) to enable the members of the public over 50 years of
age to experience sailing a traditional lug-rigged sailing
vessel of West Cornwall. This proved to be very popular with all
the events fully subscribed. See the Sailing Programme for the
next available opportunities.
